Splatoon nail art - because that's how I roll.

Heyo everyone! I hope you are well, so I purchased the game Splatoon!! First off let me tell you, this game, it is solid gold awesome. It's colorful, it's shooty, it's adorable, it's awesome. If a bunch of people went into a room and said Let's make a game for Jenn, this would be the result. Long story short I flippin love it. Anyway I did some nail art to show my love and enthusiasm for the game! I hope you like it!

Have you guys played Splatoon yet? Do you plan to? Let me know in the comments below!
That's all for now guys, catch you next time!

May "Unite" themed Loot Crate unboxing and review

Hey guys! I certainly hope your day is off to a good start. So yesterday I got Mays "Unite" Loot Crate in the mail! I had stopped subscribing for a few months because the themes didn't particularly interest me but this month promised items from some choice fandoms of mine including Team Fortress 2 so naturally I went back for this month.

Just a little rundown in case you're all What's a Loot Crate? Loot Crate is a monthly geek and gamer subscription box that gets shipped to your door every month for as long as you are subscribed. This box comes stuffed with nerd culture goodies often including t-shirts, comic books etc. You can purchase either 1,3,6, or 12 month subscriptions ranging in price from $29.95 for a one month subscription to $312.00 for a one year subscription. Shipping is included in these prices which is handy because I'm in Canada and shipping can be a bitch. So after that brief run down here we go with the unbox!

Here we have the crate as it arrived through the post. I have definitely had them show up in worse condition than this (although that's probably more a fault of USPS/ Canada Post than anything) all in all box condition this month isn't bad so that's a plus. Let's see what's inside. (Full disclosure my boyfriend got to un-box this one before hand and show me what was in it so this is just after we did that :P)

Here is everything hanging out in the box. It was filled out pretty nicely this month, I hate extra space it makes me feel like I didn't get what I paid for, so I definitely liked that the stuff at least filled the box out nicely this month haha.

..and just a shot of everything still in the box but visible before I get into talking about each individual item :)
First off, just like every month we get the Loot Crate magazine which tells you about all the stuff in this months crate, along with other interesting info and information on each months Mega Crate which you are automatically entered to win each month you are subscribed.

Again like every month we have the button featuring an image fitting the theme, the theme itself, and the month of the crate.

The first item I took out is this neat little puzzle in a box from the show Rick and Morty. I admit I've only seen a couple of episodes of this show so far, but from what I've seen it's pretty funny and puzzles are great fun so I'm definitely liking this item. It will make a nice wall piece when it's done and glued down to which is always awesome. It states the puzzle is 11" x 14" and has 300 pieces. I am definitely going to be posting when I finish this puzzle so you can see the finished product :)

OMFG ok so...this might not be a big deal to some people, and I have been taking more time to play offline games but this is the item I was most excited for even though I didn't know exactly what it was going to be. FRACKING TF2 buttons you guys. I also need to mention that just the fact that they are TF2 is enough for me, but that I got a Balloonicorn is the best thing of life. I still need to get one of the tangible Balloonicorns but this button is the next best thing. My boyfriend and I have decided that we will take turns swapping between us the Red and Blue team pins, but the Balloonicorn with permanently remain with me, and the Sandvich will continually remain with him.

Some nifty Marvel shoe laces, they look silky-ish and feature an all over print.

A marvel Avengers Age of Ultron decal, most likely for cars. My car is personally off the road for a few months so this will have to get tucked away for now. Especially since I live in a small ass town I haven't even gotten to see Age of Ultron yet.

This months crate featured a special Loot Crate edition of Mad Magazine which is pretty awesome because Mad Magazine/ Mad TV are some of the best things ever, seriously why is it not still on TV.

A super awesome Loot crate exclusive Bravest Warrior comic. No more words are necessary.

This is my other favorite item from this months crate next to the TF2 buttons, a freaking Power Rangers shirt! However because we swap between my t-shirt size and my boyfriends T-shirt size to be fair this awesome Power Rangers T-shirt will be his and not mine :P Oh well at least I get to look at it on him :) Hopefully there will be a t-shirt next month of something equally awesome for moi.

And lastly we have a Marvel Silicon ice cube tray. Ok so full disclosure I normally wouldn't be too excited to receive an ice cube tray in a subscription box, HOWEVER I was pumped for it because we just made the switch to silicon ice cube trays and LOVE THEM. Therefore this item makes a jump from eh an ice cube tray, that's kind of cool to AWESOME another silicon ice cube tray haha. Plus it's Marvel so that's an added bonus even though I'm a DC girl at heart (I'm looking at you Batman).

So that's it this month guys, all in all I'm pretty pleased this month! Want to get your own Loot Crate subscription? You can do so here. Next months theme has already been revealed as "Cyber" and it looks as though there will be some items from Terminator Genysis and Borderlands 2!! Those two things alone have me staying for at least another month :P

Let me know what you think in the comments below. Did you get this crate?

Thanks for stopping by guys see you next time!!

Espionage Cosmetics - Makeup for Nerds

Hey guys! How are you today? Good news!- well at least I consider it good news. I have decided that I am going to move from being just a nail art and polish blogger to also branching out into beauty and fashion. I will also be starting a secondary blog (the nerdy cupcake) that will host some other content about my nerdy loves and interests.  On that note I am very excited to be doing my first beauty post about one of my favorite indie makeup companies Espionage Cosmetics.

Espionage Cosmetics not only makes awesome cosmetics, they make awesome cosmetics based around wicked nerdy themes like Borderlands 2, the Steampunk scene, the Otaku scene,Firefly, girl gamers, and first person shooters. Being a lover of makeup and ALL of the aforementioned things naturally I am a huge fan.

Of course you all know that I love nail art, but that doesn't mean that I don't also love nail wraps. Nail art is complicated, not everyone can do it, and sometimes you don't always have time to put in all the effort for banging nails -but that doesn't mean you don't deserve to have them! Hence the beauty of nail wraps. Many other companies do nail wraps as well but the wraps available from Espionage let us nail art lovers show off our nerdy side with prints ranging from a collage of kittens to circuit boards and D20 and all the way to kickass prints from Borderlands 2.There are even some inspired by Tim Burton for all of us Burton lovers :)

But there's more!!

Something new you may be learning about me is that I love bright colorful eyeshadows, and Espionage Cosmetics has no shortage of fan-tabulous in your face colors. All of the themes I mentioned before do not just apply to Espionage Cosmetics nail wrap line, they also apply to the beautiful eye shadows available.

You can either purchase the shadows one by one slowly growing your collection, or you can purchase them in a stack getting all the themed shades together, heck if you REALLY love it you can even purchase the whole stack of shadows WITH matching nail wraps :P (frankly this seems like the most sensible option to me...).

Now Let's just take a closer look atsome of those shadow collections shall we?

Take it from an avid Borderlands player these colors perfectly match the vibe and art style of Borderlands 2. Just looking at them I see huge laser weapons, loot chests, and beautiful chunks of Eridium ...crap now I need to play Borderlands again (not that that is a bad thing :P)!! I personally can't wait to get my hands on this collection.

Find it here for $35.00

Moving on to the Neo-Victorian collection. Now, I don't know about you but I think these colors look about as Steam Punk as you can get. Evoking thoughts of Bustle skirts, top hats, and sweet sweet metal gears and Steampunk inventions this set is perfect for both those who love the Steampunk scene/ style and also those who just want some fantastic earthy metallic shades in their shadow line up.

Find it here for $28.00
This is another collection that isn't negotiable for me. I need this one as I clearly un apologetically put MANY hours into fps games each week...perhaps each day...anyway..The colors are a perfect mirror image of tanks and guns and camo. Personally I can identify a lot with these colors and the color palettes in the Battlefield series, but they are cohesive with the whole genre really. They also remind me of Poison Ivy so it's kind of double duty for me.

Get it here for $28.00
The Paranormal collection will get you noticed for sure, with a super vibrant red and a deep purple with some ghostly grey and copper to blend the colors out. These colors are for sure the eye shadows you can find on the vanity tables of the most discerning female spectres and spooks.

Find it here for $28.00

The last collection of eyeshadows that I will show off here today is the comic book collection.
There are many more collections on the site but I wanted to feature a good spread without telling you everything that's available. I love to leave some things for surprises when you are shopping  :P
What better way to illustrate comic books through color than with some high voltage glitters? All the attitude and ferocity of your favorite heroes an villains can be found in this combo of knockout colors.

Find it here for $35.00

As I mentioned previously the shadows can also be purchased one by one. The prices of individual shadows range from $7.50 to $9.00.

For you lippie lovers don't worry you haven't been forgotten! Espionage Cosmetics also has an ever growing range of lip serums. Pictured above are Rounds 1-3 of their "kiss of death" series. The lip serum shades featured in these two packs face off against one another for superiority and the privilege to adorn your lips! Single lippies are $9.00 and two packs are $17.00.

This company is run by mostly women and can be purchased both online and in booths at many sci-fi and fan conventions throughout the year.

So if you guys are nerds who like to be beautiful like me don't forget to check Espionage Cosmetics out. I guarantee you won't be disappointed by what you see.

Much Love guys!
